Upgrading to the New EasyMenu 3.01 Version (for new e-mail feature)

In order to use the new e-mail feature within ProServe II v2.01e or ProFrame v3.06c; it may be necessary to un-install the current EasyMenu v3.00 and re-install the new version v3.01 on each client on your network.

  • It's okay to wait until you have installed the product update before performing this step.
  • If you're already running EasyMenu v3.01; No need to continue with this installation. (the e-mail feature should work)
  • If the EasyMenu logo matches the logo above; then you're running the latest version.
  • If you purchased EasyBee Software products prior to 04/01/2009, you're most likely running v3.00 and will need to upgrade.
Follow steps below to upgrade to EasyMenu v3.01.
 
1st you need to download the new EasyMenu v3.01 upgrade file.
  • Do not RUN from website, Save It to your hard drive.
  • Try not to save it on your desktop, save it in your Documents folder or on your shared drive in case you need to perform this on each client on your network.
  • Click here to download EasyMenu v3.01
  • Do NOT install EasyMenu v3.01 until you complete Section I below.
Section I, Un-Installing EasyMenu v3.00

On Server (this also applies to single user installations)

  • If you originally installed from the Download Version - the Un-Install may affect the Main Program and Data folder.
  • Either the ProServe folder or ProFrame folder depending on which product you're using.
  • Make sure the main ProServe folder or ProFrame folder is not located under the C:\EasyBee folder.
  • If  this is true - Move it out by itself under the root folder before un-installing EasyMenu v3.00.
  • Example: C:\EasyBee\ProServe - Right click the ProServe folder and select Send To, then point to the root folder. This should move that folder out by itself so it is no longer under the C:\EasyBee folder.
  • Make a Backup of the main folder ProServe or ProFrame (Do NOT used the Backup Utility within ProServe) Make a copy of the entire ProServe or ProFrame folder either with flash cards or by pasting into another folder on your hard drive. - Then you can restore that folder if required after completing Section II.

On each Client

  • Do NOT perform this section until you have downloaded the EasyMenu v3.01 upgrade file from above. (make sure you can locate it on your drive or shared drive)
  • From Within ProServe II, select Help/System Status
  • Then record the drive and path in the Location field. ____________
  • Exit ProServe II and EasyMenu back to your desktop.
  • Exit Outlook or your e-mail client.
  • Exit all other applications that may be running.
  • Select Start/Settings/Control Panel then Add-Remove Programs
     
    (Win2000 or XP) In Vista it’s Start/Control Panel then Programs and Features.
  • Select the application EasyMenu v3.00 and then select Remove
    (In Vista select EasyMenu v3.00 and the select Uninstall at the top)
  • After un-installing EasyMenu v3.00 return to Desktop by closing all windows.

 

Section II, Installing EasyMenu v3.01
  • If you have not performed Section I - Do so now, it's very important to un-install v3.00 before installing this version (v3.01)
  • Select Start/Run (in Vista Start/All Programs/Accessories/Run)
  • Select Browse and locate the download file EasyMenu301.exe that you downloaded from 1st step.
  • After returning to the RUN window with drive and path of EasyMenu301.exe   in the Command line, press OK.
    This should start the installation; if not verify where the EasyMenu301.exe file is located..
  • Enter the password easybee when prompt for password.
  • Follow installation prompts to complete this part of installation.

 

Section III, Setup Applications
  • You should see a new EasyMenu v3.01 icon. (or at least a new title with v3.01)
  • Double click the EasyMenu v3.01 icon.
  • Verify that you're now running v3.01. (a new look with new logos)
  • Highlight the option Setup and select Run.
  • Highlight the Software Product and select Next.
  • Read the EULA and select I Agree.
  • Select Installation Type Client.
  • Enter the Drive and Path information that you recorded from the Location field of Section I from above.
  • Leave the last "\" off then press the enter key.
  • (Example: C:\EasyBee\Proserve     NOT  -  C:\EasyBee\ProServe\
  • Select Install then OK.
This ends Installation Sections I, II & III.
Note: Perform Section I, II and III for each client that requires the new e-mail feature.
